2024 Taylor Fellow

Lauren Morrison is a Doctoral Candidate in the social and health psychology program at Stony Brook University and SPSSI’s 2024 Dalmas A. Taylor Fellow. Her research has primarily focused on examining the impact of neighborhood-level factors on parenting behaviors and the well-being of Black families. She has also expanded her research to examine Black maternal health experiences and disparities. Lauren holds an M.A. in psychology from Stony Brook University and a B.A. in psychology with a minor in bioethics from Loyola Marymount University. She aims to utilize research to inform policies that alleviate stress for Black families and contribute to positive systemic change. Lauren also aims to promote diversity and enhance representation in the profession of psychology and psychological research. To advocate for this cause, she has served on panels detailing the graduate school application process, mentored underrepresented students, and given community-based presentations.
