Giselle Laiduc, Ph.D. (she/hers) is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Santa Clara University. Before beginning at Santa Clara, she earned her B.A. and B.S. from the University of Arizona and her Ph.D. from UC Santa Cruz. Her research investigates how sociocultural factors and institutional practices shape the psychological wellbeing and academic success of historically minoritized students. She engages multiple methods and diverse partnerships to examine students’ experiences in context. That is, she aims to challenge common assumptions about underrepresentation and underperformance in higher education. She also works to develop culturally relevant interventions that foster belonging and identity safety, ultimately informing university practices that promote educational equity and student wellbeing.
